Dining @ Frames, TTDI PLaza

This is kinda a continuation of my Raya Break...

Well the day after my short trip to Seremban, boyfriend and I decided to go for a nice Balinese body massage at noon and then dinner at night. Since this is a 'food post' so i guess i'm gonna just blog about the dinner.

But well, if you want to know, we had our body massage at Holistic Beauty @ Hartamas for the price of RM88 (one and half hour) per person. I enjoyed the massage but boyfriend did not like it at all. Apparently he has got a different treatment than i did. hehe. So i do not know whether to say that Holistic Beauty is a good place or not. Maybe you might wanna try it out yourself. =P

so back to this food post,

we had dinner at Frames @ TTDI Plaza

I like the interior

it was totally furnished and decorated thematically, according to its name

the bar/counter

there we're comfy little cushions to sit on

the (cOOl) boyfriend

the (swEEt) girlfriend
hehe

okok, and straight to the point...
now, to introduce the food and drinks we had..

boyfriend had Chocolate Shake
-RM9.90-
Review: tasted just like any other good Chocolate Shakes =P

while i had Signature G-Frost (recommended by the waiter)
-RM9.90-
Review: Nice, sweet, sour, fruity and refreshing! =)

as for appetizer, we had

Mushroom Soup
-RM9.90-
Review: it tasted like wild mushroom soup. it's pretty okay.. =|

and our main meal...

boyfriend had Pomodoro Pasta
-RM19.90-
Review: it tasted just 'okay'. =|

while i had Marinara Pasta
-RM24.90-
Review: the pasta was not bad, tasted better than the Pomodoro =|

and that was all we had for dinner...

well, my overall review, the food tasted Okay, but for the price that we paid, i seriously think that we could have had better pastas elsewhere. if you ask me if i would recommend you there for dinner, i would most probably say 'No'. Nonetheless, they have good and affordable lunch sets, like RM15++ per set and that would be a price worth paying for the quality of the food served. I like the atmosphere of the place though. and for that, i'll give it a thumbs up ;)

~Sharing is caring~

Adios! =)

Trip to Seremban

Dear folks, I'm back again after a month to update my blog =P

As you can see, my previous blog was about 'bulan Ramadhan' (fasting month) so here's a continuation of what I did during my Raya break last month...

~~~
My bf and I do not celebrate Hari Raya so we decided to have a road trip to Seremban. It was a spontaneous one and nothing much was planned nor prepared for this trip.
As we entered the 1st Seremban Tol, the first Seremban's landmark we saw was
the Seremban Municipal Hall
So folks, when you see that, you know you're in Seremban. Okay lame..
Anyway,
we totally had no idea where to begin with so we decided to drive our way towards the Ostrich Farm.
On our way there, we past by something that caught our attention
No, not this but this is the place which had that 'something' which made us stop by the road just to take a look at it..
this cute Jeep!
what's more interesting about it is it's 'bull head' at the front. Pretty cool eh? =P
Not long after,
we reached the Jelita Ostrich Show-Farm
there's a map for this farm
an upclose of the map....big place eh?
yes it is! we spent almost 2 hours there. can you believe it? lol!
admission is free btw...and you don't need to park your car somewhere. you can drive around the farm. In fact, you have to drive or you'll take a day to finish your visit at the farm! lol!
so here are the few Ostriches which 'greeted' us as we enter the entrance..
a profile photo for this only Ostrich which was walking around while the rest were just munching their food away. hehe. =P
and another...
so much for calling it an Ostrich farm, they have other birds too..
the Flamingoes, Black Swan, and uh...bird? lol! I can't recognize what bird that is... =P
a profile picture for the swan. it's a swan right?? lol! i'm really bad with my "animal planet knowledge". hahaha!
ok, this picture doesn't make it look like a swan...gosh, i really don't know...!! lol!
moving on...more birds..hehe. they're somewhat cute looking. don't you think? =P
a picture of boyfriend and i
with few of the birds.. =P
opposite the Ostrich Farm (beside the entrance), there's this wood-craft thing, crafted to make it look like a dear's horn. so erm...why did they name it Ostrich Farm?? I really don't know..
and we didn't bother to think much about that because we found a place where we can post for pictures!
me
him
okay, they are all really silly photos but i think my bf is getting better with his posts...don't you think? hahaha! =P
after 20 minutes of 'self-photoshoot' we decided to move on deeper into the farm and that's when we met...
a group of deers!!
they look pretty eh?
an animal lover will love this post... =P
another group of raindeers.. there were truly many of them!
here's an upclose..
in order to get an upclose photo of these deers, you gotta need a camera with 10x zoom or something cause they were really far from the fences.
this just reminds me of the Disney cartoon, Bambi... =P
next..
the buffaloes...
an upclose of one of the buffaloes.. =)
followed by some peacocks..
so beautiful ya? i was hoping that it would open up its feathers but it just refuses to =(
oh well...
then as we drive deeper into the farm,
we saw two camels lying on the ground
(which i first thought that they were fake because they were both pretty much stoned. loL!)
a closer picture of the camel
and another...
i feel quite sad for these animals because they looked so distress..
i mean, they don't belong here! sigh..
on the other hand, pretty interesting to find these animals in an OSTRICH FARM....lol!
that's not all..
a random break: take a look at this amazing view...
the wonderful creation of God...
the sky, the mist, the hills, the trees, the grass, the land... haaaahhh.... =]
okay, back to our farm tour...
our next stop was the
Seremban Equine Centre
yes, there's horse riding here but i guess it's because it was a public holiday, horse riding was not available....or you would probably think otherwise after seeing the pictures of the horses there...
meet the little white pony
brown 'horsy'..
old 'horsy'...just look at the bones...gosh....i really felt sad for this horse...
little brown horse
they're all just looking down and away... sobs...sigh...
there was a white old carriage and boyfriend and i thought of having some crazy photos with it... =P
him
me..
hehe.
and that was all for the our tour at the Ostrich Farm. So much for being an Ostrich Farm, you get to see more than just Ostrich! lol!
we were pretty late from schedule as we leave the farm and head to Kajang to buy satay but before that, we managed to make a quick stop at
Seremban Church of The Visitation
this is a truly nice place to visit
well, although it somehow creeped me a little (maybe it's because it was empty and it looks a little runned down) but a church is always a church. how creepy can a church gets? hehehe. =P
below are more photos of the church...
like i said, it was a quick stop, so we were there for only about 15 minutes. well, there's nothing much you can do there anyway..lol!
so we headed back to exit Seremban
while on our way to the exit,
some runned down buildings caught my attention..
don't ask me why....hehehe.. =P
lastly, a few pictures of
Seremban's Muzium
i only managed to take photos from the outside as the muzium was closed
nice structure eh? =P
Goodbye Seremban...
~~~

our next stop was at

Kajang Satay Stall

the famous place for satay...

there are quite actually a number of satay stalls there and this was the one i chose to buy from..

i guess it's simply because there were more people eating there...lol!

looks good?? it does smell good too =)
but guess what? i didn't eat the satay at all. we just went all the way there because i wanted to pack for my aunt...so good girl right?

but while waiting,

we ordered some 'ketupat' as we were feeling a little hungry too... =P

this is the spicy peanut sauce...it was really 'peanuty'. i like the taste of it, just a little not spicy enough... =P

we didn't dine there as we had to rush back to PJ...

finally,

a final photo of the both of us for the day...
looking half-tired..loL!

hope you enjoy this post of our 'animal discovery'...lol! =P

I Buka Puasa!

Hello there!
Here's a random post about one thing that I've done during Bulan Ramadhan last month and is very proud of.

On the second last day of Bulan Ramadhan, I actually attempted to 'puasa' (fast) for the day and guess what? I succeeded!! So to celebrate my success in fasting for the entire day, I called Lisa and Dean to 'buka puasa' (open fast) with me.

It was raining that evening but it did not stop me from getting to SS4's Pasar Ramadhan to buy dinner for the three of us. I kept a budget of RM30 for the dinner and to my surprise, I ended up spending only RM20 for 4 types of meal and 1 drink, just enough for the three of us. Let's check out the food below! =)

Roti Jala

Chicken Curry to go with Roti Jala

Review: The Roti Jala tasted 'OK' probably because it was a little cold. The chicken curry was not the best as well.

Lemang

Chicken Rendang to go with Lemang

Review: The Lemang and Chicken Rendang was not bad. Only thing is, there weren't enough rendang to go with the Lemang. =P

Chicken Satay and Ketupat

Peanut Sauce to go with the Satay

Review: The Satay was pretty normal. It's not bad actually. ;)

Ikan Bakar

Review: I think this was the best dish of all. =D

Air Mata Kuching

Review: A very refreshing drink to go with all the food we had above =P

And all that for only RM20! Pretty worth it eh? Now I'm looking forward to next year's Bulan Ramadhan.

Don't ask me if I will attempt to fast again or not. I guess once is enough. Well, it wasn't a hard thing to do at all. I am actually very proud that I succeeded in my fasting attempt as I really felt the joy of 'Berbuka Puasa' when most of us non-muslims will never understand it. What more when you're opening fast with the people close to you =)

Thanks Dean and Lisa for 'buka puasa-ing' with me =P

Thanks Dean for being the host (as always). hehehe. =P

After a full and satisfying meal,

we had a few rounds of a really tiring game - Nintendo Wii : Boxing - to burn the calories we have just consumed. lol!

it was an enjoyable night as always =)

Honeymoon & Rak Thai

This will be a very short, simple and straight forward "food post".
I'm just trying my best to be a good food blogger as well. hehehe.

The food that i'll be featuring in this blog is from two different places,
(i) Honeymoon, One Utama and (ii) Rak Thai, Gardens Shopping Mall

(i) Honeymoon @ One Utama
is a place specially for desert, mainly chinese desert.
while i was there with my friend, Adele, we both had

Soy Bean Curd a.k.a Tau Foo Fa
-RM4.00 per bowl-
you can have it either hot or cold..
Review: It's okay..I prefer the traditional ones, those you can get from the vans along the roads taste nicer =P

Sesame Cream + Soy Bean Curd
-RM6.00 per bowl-
you can also have this hot or cold
Review: It's okay...I'll give the same comment to the Soy Bean Curd and as for the Sesame Cream, it was a little too watery..

The Three Sweet Balls a.k.a Tong Yuen
-RM7.00 per bowl of 6 pcs-
This is nice when it's served hot and they serve three different flavoured fillings - black sesame, peanut and sweet potato -
Review: Not bad ;)

(ii) Rak Thai @ Gardens Shopping Mall
Well, the name says it, Rak Thai is a Thai food restaurant. I bet all you know I love Thai food now. =P I was there with my boyfriend, so yeap, you guys can expect to see a vegetarian dish. hehe. =P

Below are the food and drinks we had. I kinda forgot some info cause it was quite some time ago when we dined at Rak Thai. (Sigh, another failed food blog. =P)

Fresh Lime Mint drink
Review: I love it! It was really refreshing! ;)

Blended Mango Drink
Review: Not bad. A nice drink for mango lovers =)

Lemongrass drink
Review: I love this drink too. Though it looks simple, but it is very soothing and refreshing. =)

Seafood Yam Woon Sen a.k.a Glass Noodle Salad
-RM8.90-
This salad is served cold.
Review: Love it! A great combination of sour and spicy taste with fresh seafood and cooling glass noodle. Yum! =P

Vegetarian Tom Yam Fried Rice
-RM9.90-
Review: It's not bad. It may seem very plain and simple but it's good enough =)

Stir Fried Minced Meat with Rice
Review: This dish tasted good too but I felt that it lacks a little bit more of the aroma from the leave they use =P

Mango Sticky Rice
-Small: RM5.90-
-Large: RM 8.90-
Review: This is my favourite Thai desert. It tasted just as good as any other place as it's a simple desert to prepare =P

that's all for now...now i feel really hungry and is craving for thai food.. =P

adios!

Balok, Kuantan Trip

Hey people! Finally I can blog about trips again.
This time it was to Balok Beach, Kuantan.
The objective of this trip was not to have too many tiring and adventurous activities as it is simply to relax ourselves and escape from the busy lifestyle for the weekend.

dearest and I went to Kuantan from 29th August - 31st August.
[3 celebrations: MJ's 51st birthday, Bulan Ramadhan and Merdeka day.]

Balok Beach, Kuantan

the first resort that we stayed in was Fantasia
-RM130 for 2 persons inclusive of buka puasa dinner for 2-
very affordable but my review is - B.A.D!

the beach was okay...
we couldn't really swim in the beach for two factors:
1. it was pretty dirty
2. we saw a dead big jelly fish! =S

this is the entrance to the beach...looks pretty nice eh? =P

we were at Balok about 2 hours early before our check-in time to Fantasia, so we hung around the beach and took some photos..

okay, my mistake, we only took one photo of myself. lol!

then, we spent the whole noon resting in the room as it was too hot and sunny to be out at the beach..and in Balok, besides the beach, there's NOTHING else to do.

at night, we went 'resort exploring'. lol.

this is Swiss Garden

we were simply walking around at their beach and taking pictures at the resort although we were not staying there. lol.

this is me

and this is us =P

this is me

and this is him =P

the following day, we checked out of Fantasia as during our 'resort exploring' session the previous night, we found a resort which was way better!!

-De Rhu Beach Resort, RM88 for two, room only-
very freakingly affordable and my review: G.R.E.A.T!

it's a 4 star resort but we got such great price because of the Ramadhan promotion. =P
sadly, i forgotten to snap photos of the room and resort... =S

it's the same beach we're at, Balok.

yeah, Fantasia and De Rhu Beach Resort is actually next to each other. lol!

upon checking in, since we did not get to go the beach the previous night, we made it a point to dropby the beach today. plus, it was not hot and sunny like the day before.

it was a really peaceful session with my dearest,
sitting by the beach,
enjoying the sight of little families flying kites,
hearing the sound of the waves playing its own harmony,
accompanied by the wind that's not too strong...
haaahh....
i really liked it there...

here are some photos of us..

the dead big jelly fish which we thought was a rock.

now with my darling there, it made the jelly fish looks small..lol!
it was my camera angle. haha.

a photo of us at the beach
(my hair colour suck! =S)

after hanging around at the beach, we went to the swimming pool for a swim

and i must say, they have a really big and long swimming pool!

but before the swim, we had a small 'tour' around the swimming pool + park

and that's when we met this cat
who ran to us the moment it saw us from 5 metres away,
and was following us around, to wherever we go...
from the pool..

to the playground...
then to the carpark, and to the resort, and even up the stairs to our room! 0.o..

yes, i've told this story to a few of my friends. to those that i did not tell the story to, drop me a comment if you want to know. lol!

that's me at the playground...
i really love being a kid again... =P

at night,

we had Ramadhan buffet for dinner at the resort itself..

it wasRM33++ per person for all this...not too bad...
the food was okay...i liked the curry crabs (though i'm allergic to it but i was craving for crabs!)

okay, i was the only one enjoying the buffet dinner as my bf is a vegetarian. but they had ala carte food for vegetarians too. so it was a pleasing dinner afterall...

after dinner, we headed to Berjaya Megamall at Kuantan town. the mall is not too far from Balok, about 20mins drive.

the mall is pretty big; well, bigger and better than i had expected. hehe. they had juke boxes (which my bf and i actually paid to sing two songs just for the fun of being in that box. lol!), bowling alley, pub, snooker and arcade.

we wanted to have a little bit of fun after all the relaxing sessions so we decided to play games in the arcade...sadly, there were no photos or videos of us taken in the arcade as we were having too much fun with the games, trying to collect as many coupons as we can.

at the end of the day, with all the coupons we collected, we managed to redeem 2 sets of stickers. lol! =P well, most importantly is that, i had a real good time..

the following day, we checked out at 1pm and headed straight back to K.L...

and that was my trip to Balok, Kuantan.

15Malaysia Screening

15Malaysia

What is 15 Malaysia? I'm sure we have all heard of 1 Malaysia, but 15Malaysia...?
To those of you who have not heard of it before, here's a brief introduction of 15Malaysia..

"15Malaysia is a short film project. It consists of 15 short films made by 15Malaysian filmmakers. These films not only deal with socio-political issues in Malaysia (which varies from corruption, race relations, inflation, Islamic banking, social apathy, ethical commerce, pedophilia, government health warnings and so on), they also feature some of the best-known faces in the country, including actors, musicians and top political leaders" (as quoted from 15Malaysia website)

As quoted by James Chong, one of the objectives of this project is "to support independent film making industry". [yeah, i support that too =)]

15Malaysia is produce by a small team led by Pete Teo while the main sponsor for the project is P1, the WiMAX Internet access provider.

In conjunction with the project, a preview/screening of all 15 short films was held at Greenpacket, Jalan Templer, last Friday (4th September 2009) and I was again invited to the screening as a blogger =P

these are the "admission tickets"

and that's me with the tickets
(yes, my hair is back to black =P)

why am i holding two tickets?? cause the other one is Ven Bee's.
yeap, I dragged her to the screening with me. =P

upon arriving greenpacket sharp at 7:00 p.m., we were all served with light and simple ramadhan dinner

at (where i believe) is their cafeteria.

and here are the food Ven Bee and I had.

after dinner, we did what we both do best - camwhore!
haha!

here's just two of our many attempts

to finally get one that's pretty much satisfying

then, we headed to the wash room, and tried for more! =P

3....2....1....

it was finally 8 o'clock (stated screening time) when we left the washroom... =P

we headed straight to the auditorium where the screening was held

another photo of us at the entrance of the room

there were some goodies/premiums for us too..
[pen, notepad, stickers, badges]

the few early birds... =P

the event began with a casual speech by James Chong followed by the screenings of the first 7 films - Potong Saga, Chocolate, The Tree, House, Halal, The Son, Lumpur - before we had our 15 minutes break.

during the break, Ven Bee and I headed to the rooftop of greenpacket for a "smoke". lol! She just wanted to check out the place as it was her first time there..

and of course, we had a few more photos together

a self-timer photo

and another with the help of a stranger =P

here's a final pic of the both of us before we head back to the auditorium.

back at the auditorium, we continued watching the next 7 films - One Future, Slovak Sling, Gerhana, Meter, Duit Kecil, Healthy Paranoia, Lollipop - Yes, 7. We only managed to watch 14 out of the 15 short films as the final one - Rojak - wasn't ready for screening.

and that was it.
we both headed straight back home after the event ended.

~~~
I pretty much enjoyed it as some of the films really interests and/or excites me besides having a slight interest in short video production. I have produced a 5 minutes film before back in college as one of our Film Studies assignment and it was not as easy as most of us would think. So to all the 15 film production teams, well done!
Nonetheless, I must say that in my opinion, the top 5 best films are:
1. House
2. Slovak Sling
3. Potong Saga
4. Halal
5. Meter and Healthy Paranoia
the rankings above are judged based on my own opinion of their concept, story flow, videography, editing and so on...and I do encourage everyone to watch the videos. they may or may not enlighten you but they will definitely put a thought in you.
that's all for now. for more details of the 15Malaysia project, kindly visit www.15malaysia.com .
don't forget to check out their exciting contests for all!
=)
MSF '09 @ Cherating, Pahang - Day 1
The 4th Annual Malaysian Salsa Festival was held from 23rd - 26th July 2009 @ The Legend Beach Resort, Cherating Beach, Pahang.
Now, because I was lending a hand for the entire event, I will not get into details about the entire event. Reason being that I did not have much time to take part in many activities held as well as to snap photos. So here goes, I'm gonna blog as much as I can, beginning with Day 1.
This was my outfit for the day
-MNG sleeveless top and Jeans-
on that day, i was at KL Sentral to coordinate the people to the bus
James was being very helpful by holding up the sign for me =P
Jaxen was of great help too by coordinating the people there.
Thanks you both!
Here's a photo of the Rhythm Identity crew at McDonald's before we left
and another photo of the few of us when we were in the bus
(boy was it an experience being in the same bus on a 4 hours journey with them! lol! =P)
Upon arrival to the beach resort
we were all greeted by the "Kompang" performers and had refreshing tropical/orange juice
then, everyone else headed straight to the registration counter to register themselves and check into their rooms
i then checked in to my room too and get changed.
while waiting for other participants to reach the resort, some of us had our tea break
yummilicious food were served! =P
after tea,
it was time to hit to the pool!
Santha and I
nah,..we, the Ground Crews (GCs) were there to standby
for Alison and Premala's workshop
which was held in the pool!
it was so much fun! i wished i could join =P
so while everyone else were having fun in the pool,
i began camwhoring with some who did not participate for the workshop
MSF 09 Welcome Party
It's been 3 weeks since the 4th Annual Malaysian Salsa Festival was held;
this time, in Cherating, Pahang.
And it is a usual routine for Kak Lin, the organizer of MSF to carry out a 'Welcome Party' a day before the Salsa Festival.
This year's 'Welcome Party' was held at Paradisso, Kuala Lumpur. It was a simple yet fun and another memorable one.
Well, i'll let the few photos do the "blogging". =P
(i didn't really "click" or camwhore much that night)
Tribute to Michael Jackson @ Zouk, KL
Another tribute to the late Michael Jackson!!
yes, it's everywhere...i'm not sure if it's a good thing or not because if you think otherwise, these people are actually taking opportunity of his death to make money...oh well..as long as i am not and i was truly at the event(s) for him!
the tribute this time was held at Zouk last month
from the outside...
pretty cool eh? =P
MJ entrance arch
ceiling decos of MJ
LCD screens playing his music videos back to back
it was just simply MJ fever in the room!
then, the night started with
an "opening dance" by the club dancers
followed by some MJ songs for us to listen/dance to
before one of Malaysia's top MJ impersonator stepped on stage to perform
really does look like Michael Jackson right??
he even had his back up dancers. lol!
i have a video of his performance but for some reason, i can't upload it here on my blog. sorry guys. =P
then the night continue with a whole night long of Michael Jackson's music to dance to!!
now, some photos of Adele and I (only both of us turned up whereas others "set aeroplane")
it was also our last few moments together before she left to Perth...
gonna miss those babes...
a photo of Adele and Charlene
(a friend of Adele who works for Zouk Club.)
Charlene, me and Adele
Last but not least,
another photo of us both, of course...
i had quite some fun there because it was all just MJ songs to dance to! Nevertheless, the fun could've been better though if others would have turned up..oh well, it's their lost =P
.ending here.
